“HalloWAI x One Hundred Tales: Stories of Hong Kong Yokai”

To tie in with Hong Kong’s overall Halloween festive atmosphere and promote tourism and local culture. From now until 31 October, The Wai has joined hands with local creative brand “WE ARE THE PIGS” to present five photo spots themed around the story of One Hundred Tales: Stories of Hong Kong Yokai, To present classic quirky Hong Kong urban legends in a light-hearted and entertaining format featuring 50 Hong Kong ghosts and monsters. 

 

Scene Highlights

L2 AtriumA 5.5m-tall giant Fox Spirit dominates the scene; the Braided Girl, Lotus Pond Ghost, Aberdeen White Tiger and more gather together.
Landscape Garden 2BLam Tin Water Demon vs Fire Dragon — a dazzling battle of water and fire.
L4 Event Space (Open from 16 October)Step into the haunted scenes of No. 7 Police Station and Tat Tak School making people feel as if they are right in the middle of an urban legend.
Landscape Garden 4CThe Bing Tau Garden stone beasts release dreamy mist on weekends.
L5 Event SpaceA classic cinema scene, elusive “little friends,” and a retro weighing scale.

 

During the event, The Wai is also launching the <HalloWAI x One Hundred Tales: Stories of Hong Kong Yokai> MTR Mobile badge collection. From 5 October, visitors who collect 11 MTR Mobile badges around the venue can redeem a limited sticker and a set of The Wai e-coupons.

From mid-October, ghost characters will step out of the scenes leading everyone through the world of local ghost stories. On 17 and 31 October, there will also be a special “Drop-Dead Gorgeous” surprise commendation badge and local breakdance crew Good Job Brother’s “Foxtastic Mischief Party,” bringing the festive atmosphere to its peak and immersing everyone in a spooky yet distinctly local Halloween experience.
