Whispers of urban legends are awaken at The Wai this Halloween. From October 5 to November 1, shoppers can collect 11 "The Wai <HalloWAI x One Hundred Tales: Stories of Hong Kong Yokai>" MTR Mobile Badge badges at designated locations at The Wai to redeem a physical “HalloWAI x One Hundred Tales: Stories of Hong Kong Yokai” sticker set and HK$100 The Wai Designated Categories eCoupon during designated time slots!
1.Fox Spirit of Causeway Bay
- In 1983, fox-like facial patterns mysteriously appeared on a polished marble wall outside a Chinese restaurant at Windsor House in Causeway Bay. Rumor had it that they were fox spirits that escaped from Haw Par Garden and attacked a family holding a full-month celebration inside the restaurant.

2. Braided Girl
Legend has it that if you walk along "Braided Road" at the Chinese University of Hong Kong late at night, you might spot a girl with a long braid walking ahead. From behind, she looks like a delicate student. But if curiosity gets the better of you and you speak to her, you will realize her face is covered by a long braid!

3. Lotus Pond Ghost
Legend has it that around midnight near the lotus pond at CUHK or HKU, a woman will appear and ask for the time. If you reply, she will become enraged because her lover failed to show up as promised…

4. White Tiger of Aberdeen
Aberdeen was once a bustling port home to many boat dwellers. Legend has it that due to a traditional preference for sons over daughters, girls were often treated unfairly. Thus, the White Tiger standing on the small hill beside the old Aberdeen Police Station took on the solemn duty of protecting the children.

5. Water Demon of Lam Tin
Legend has it that during Lam Tin Estate construction, the project has angered the hill's water dragon, awakening a water demon that brought constant rainstorms as revenge.

6. Colourful Dragon of Lam Tin
Legend has it that the vibrant dragon mural on Block 15 of Lam Tin Estate was created to subdue the water demon. At noon on a stormy day in 1980, residents spotted the colorful dragon battling the water demon in mid-air. Though the dragon triumphed, it was heavily injured and blinded in one eye. The next day, people were shocked to find the dragon's eye on the mural had lost its color!

7. Milk Tea Granny
Legend has it that in the women's restroom near Studio 6 of the Shaw Studios, an elderly woman would knock on doors late at night, asking, "Would you like some milk tea?" To stay safe, it was best to decline her "kindness".

8. Mother's Claypot Rice
In the 1980s, inside a unit in Kowloon Walled City, a mother was found dead for days. Yet, her two young daughters claimed to the police that their mother had just cooked them hot Chinese sausage claypot rice.

9. Stone Beast in Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens
Legend has it that back in the 1930s-40s, many couples walking past the stone lions in the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens were mysteriously attacked—and the victims were always men. It was discovered that the stone lions came alive and spat stone pearls as weapons. This was all because, unlike typical pairs, these stone lions were actually both male!

11. Golden Valley Theatre
Golden Valley Theatre in Sau Mau Ping opened in 1978 and closed in 1992, remaining abandoned for over thirty years without demolition. During its operation, people claimed to see the empty theater suddenly fill up with a packed audience—only for everyone to vanish without a trace moments later.

Terms and Conditions
The Wai < HalloWAI x One Hundred Tales: Stories of Hong Kong Yokai > MTR Mobile Badge Collection Activity (“Activity”) is organized by MTR Corporation Limited (“MTR”) and will take place from 5 October 2026 to 1 November 2026 (“Promotion Period”).
The Activity is applicable to MTR Mobile existing or newly registered members (“Members”). Members’ registration for participation and/or continued participation in the Activity constitute your agreement to comply with and be bound by the terms and conditions below.
Members are required to download the latest version of MTR Mobile, have a valid MTR Mobile registered account and log in to MTR Mobile account to participate in the Activity.
Members must visit the designated locations at The Wai, enable the “Location Service” of your mobile device and allow MTR Mobile to access your location in order to participate in the Activity. By scanning the specific QR codes at the designated locations at The Wai, the MTR Mobile registered user is able to collect the corresponding MTR Mobile badge.
Members who have successfully collected all eleven MTR Mobile badges may redeem the following Exclusive Gift during designated time slots within the Promotion Period at the designated Redemption Counter, limited in supply while stock lasts. Members must present their completed MTR Mobile badge collection record in the MTR Mobile app to the on-site staff and scan the respective redemption QR codes as instructed to complete the redemption process (screenshots are not accepted):
- One HK$100 The Wai Designated Categories eCoupon (Spend HK$500 minus HK$100)
- One< HalloWAI x One Hundred Tales: Stories of Hong Kong Yokai > Physical Sticker Set (limited in supply while stock lasts)
- $100 The Wai Designated Categories eCoupon (Spend $500 save $100) is only applicable to participating shops in Fashion, Shoes & Bags, Sports, Kids Wear, Optical, Beauty and Watch & Jewellery category and LOUDER physical store in The Wai upon net spending (deducted all eVouchers / Cash Vouchers) HK$500 or above. Please refer to The Wai website for the participating shop list and terms and conditions. This eCoupon is valid until November 15, 2026. Expired eCoupon is not accepted. A max of 1 eCoupon can be used each time. Different types and values of eCoupon cannot be used at the same time. This eCoupon is only available from 9am to 11pm during the validity period.
After redemption, you can view the Exclusive Gift redemption record under “My Collections” > “Collected”; or view the $100 The Wai Designated Categories eCoupon (Spend HK$500 minus HK$100) under “My Collections” > “Valid” in the MTR Mobile app, along with its usage details and applicable terms and conditions.

9. Each member can only collect each MTR Mobile badge for once and redeem one Exclusive Gift during the Promotion Period, and will be counted based on the records from MTR as final.
10. Members who fail to redeem their reward within the Promotion Period will be deemed to have waived their entitlement. Members may not transfer their redemption eligibility to another person.
11. All rewards are non-refundable, non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash, other products, or offers once redeemed.
12. Whether a Member can join and complete the Activity is subject to the device model used and network performance. MTR will not guarantee the smooth operation of the application and will not bear any legal responsibility for any offers that are lost, delayed, not received or not redeemed due to any issues relating to system updates/maintenance, device model, network, technology, hacking, and/or any other uncontrollable events.
13. MTR Mobile badges will not be reissued under any circumstances. All records from the system database of MTR are the only official and correct version.
14. MTR may terminate your participation in the Activity at any time with immediate effect without any notice and in our sole discretion for any reason, including without limitation:
a. you are suspected to/found to be in breach of these Terms and Condition;
b. we are unable to verify or authenticate any information you have provide;
c. your actions may, in our reasonable opinion, expose MTR to any form of liability;
d. you engage in conduct that includes offensive, discriminatory, fraudulent, or disruptive behavior during the Activity or in related communications, or you make public statements or social media posts that may reasonably be considered damaging to MTR’s reputation; or
e. you cease to be a registered MTR Mobile Member.
15. If, in MTR's opinion, a participant uses a fake account or hacks and/or modifies the software program in any way, or a participant participates in or procures others to participate in the Activity by any unfair, dishonest, improper or illegal means, or a participant promotes others to participate in this promotion for any benefit without the prior consent of MTR, or there is any fraud relating to or abuse of the Activity, MTR reserves the right to disqualify the relevant participants from participation and/or debit from the relevant participant's MTR Mobile account the amount of the MTR Mobile badges under the Activity without prior notice. MTR reserves the right to pursue against any actions that interfere with and/or disrupt the Activity.
16. Neither MTR nor its affiliates make any representations or warranties of any kind, whether express or implied for or in relation to the Activity and any services or MTR Mobile badges/limited MTR physical badges offered in the Activity. MTR and its affiliates disclaim all representations, warranties and/or guarantees of any nature (including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for purpose, quality, availability, correspondence to description or sample non-infringement, title, completeness, usefulness, accuracy, reliability, care and skills for service and/or time for service performance) to the maximum extent permissible by applicable law.
17. MTR and its affiliates will not be liable to you or any other person or entity for any loss of profits, or any direct, indirect, punitive, special or other damages, costs or losses arising out of or incidental to the Activity or these terms and conditions, even if MTR or its affiliates have been advised of the possibility of such damages, costs or losses.
18. You agree to indemnify and hold MTR and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents, and employees, harmless from and against any losses, claims, liabilities, damages, demands, costs and expenses (including all legal fees), incurred or suffered by MTR in connection with or arising from your breach of these terms and conditions and/or your participation in the Activity. MTR may, if necessary, participate in the defence of any claim or action and any negotiations for settlement. No settlement that may adversely affect our rights or obligations shall be made without our prior written approval. MTR reserves the right to assume exclusive defence and control of anysuch claim or action.
19. MTR reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at its sole discretion at any time without prior notice.
20. In case of any dispute, the decision of MTR on all matters pertaining to the Activity shall be final and binding.
21. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.
22. Should there be any discrepancy between the English version and the Chinese version of the terms and conditions herein, the English version shall prevail.
23. The Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance shall not apply to the terms and conditions herein.
